Are there any dark spots on the Crown where my wife can do some star gazing with binoculars?

Yes Promanade deck forward. However at night the outside stairs are usually locked for the evening so take Emerald deck forward and go out either door to access the outside Promanade deck. Pitch black and a great spot to view. :)
