Beautiful Beach in Moorea?

We're looking for a beautiful beach to visit in Moorea during our afternoon there.. are there any wonderful beaches near the ship?

 

Snorkeling is NOT necessarily what we are looking for although we like to do it, mostly just the kind picture-postcard beach we can comb and explore?

 

Any help is appreciated!

Public (?) Beach at Sofitel Hotel is about the only one I could find listed so far. My notes say about 15 Miles from dock.

 

Maybe someone else has an option or more info on the Beach at the Sofitel?

A drive to Temae beach near the airport of moorea to get to the public beach would yield the best result for you.

 

Best beach of the island, superb lagoon, great view of the island of Tahiti.

 

A walk towards the point of temae would offer some superb waves, and in seson some free whale watching ( Jul-Nov). Take also your surfwalker shoes and also some bag to collect shells and bleached coral.

 

A trip to the lagoonarium of moorea would add some marine life in your day trip.
