Time between PBurg, Marigot, and Orient

How long does it take to taxi from

 

Pburg to Marigot?

Marigot to Orient?

Orient to Pburg?

 

Trying to plan the day and I don't know how much time to allow for travelling between all these places.

First I would tell you if you intend to go around the whole island, rent a car, unless you intend to have a taxi for the day and that would be expensive.

Phillipsburg to Marigot about 1/2 hour, but if you go around through Simpson Bay it could take 1hr.

Marigot to Orient 1/2 hour

Orient to Phillipsburg 1/2 hr

Keep in mind that all the road are only two lanes, and the times are not including possible traffic in Marigot or Phillipsburg which can be a mess at time. The last time we were there(2 weeks ago) we spent a week, but on our last cruise there we were able to do the whole island(it was a Sunday) including stopping in Marigot, and staying a while and having lunch on Orient Beach.

If it takes 1/2 hour to go from Orient to Marigot, but 1/2 hour from Philipsburg to Marigot the numbers don't add up.

 

There are 2 ways to get to Marigot - counterclockwise around the island past Orient or clockwise past Simpson Lagoon. (check out the routes Here)

 

In either case there are major slowdowns between Grand Case and Marigot or nearly the whole route via Simpson Lagoon. This is especially the case when cruiseships are in port.

 

It all depends on what else you want to see during the day. If it's just Marigot, just take the counterclockwise route.
