Aruba First Timer

This will be our first time in Aruba so we would like to look around. We like good food and sites. Any suggestions for anything close to the pier as far as food and sites or do we need to leave the pier area? We are not snorkelers or scuba divers, will have plenty of days in San Juan to sit on the beach. Want to site see and eat. Hope this is enough information for advice.

hi,

plenty of restaurants and shopping near the pier- not so much on the site seeing, but there is a bus terminal across the street, so you could investigate where you could get by bus. cheap and easy to use, although we didn't, because most excursion companies will pick you up at the pier. if you are there in the morning you could do a half day tour and see something fun, like the Natural Pool, etc....

the bus is fine- we used it- i think it was only $1.50 per person. We felt safe- the only time i got nervous was at night- the lot is in back of the buildings- but it was fine.
