carribeansol Posted March 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2008 In light of Celebrity and RCCL refunding the surcharges to those booked before November 16th, What do you think our chances of getting a refund are? I for one was very upset about it. I just felt that if I was booked and paid that I should not have been charged this money. I knew gas prices were going up, But they did too when they set the prices for the cruise. They could have adjusted new bookings starting anytime. I understand that all the cruise lines have been in negotiations with the Attorney General but have not seen anything about Carnival who owns Costa. By the way, if you called and complained Costa claimed they had nothing to do with it, it was Carnival’s decision not theirs. I would be happy with an on board credit since I have not set sail yet. What does everyone think?
OhioGirl Posted March 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2008 I agree with you...we booked our upcoming Med cruise back in May 2007, and wasn't informed of the fuel surcharge until we made our final payment in December. I too would be happy with an on-board credit..
racingraysswimmom Posted March 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2008 I'd be thrilled with onboard credit as my family booked 2 cabins for more room and we paid an extra $140.00 in fuel supplement charges. I would be spending that onboard as fun money. Without the credit, we have decided to cut back on purchases onboard.
