Cel Phones Alaska

Greetings:

We're booked on the Radiance of the Sea in August to Alaska. Doing 6 days land and 6 cruise. My question is: While on land in i.e. Anchorage, Fairbanks etc. Has anyone had trouble using their Cel phones? I know it's very expensive to use them while on board but I'm wondering about the land part. We have Verizon with unlimited Nationwide calling and I see that they have coverage in various parts of Alaska.

Hi, When we did Alaska our sprint pcs phone worked in Ketchikan, Skagway, Junea and sitka! Have fun! We are doing the ultimate Alaska next May!

Our Verizon worked in those cities.

Our Verizon phones worked in Skagway, Ketchikan, and Juneau. Didn't go to Sitka.

We were just on the Radiance in March. What a great ship and crew!

Verizon worked in all ports including Anchorage...I did not go to Denali but as long as there is a tower you will get service...no roaming...included in your plan...

I have AT & T and we did a 15 day cruise & land package in 9/06.

I had phone service every single day of the trip.

So much for being out in the wilderness!!!!!

For much of the time on my Vision cruise, I even had regular cell phone service at sea. Guess we were close enough to the land towers. Anyway, I had the normal "printout" and not the "Cellular at Sea" one.
