smeyer418 Posted April 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2004 Hi... I was one of the people who responded about your post. There is almost an identical issue about pregancy in the April edition of Conde Nast magazine. The Ombudsman(person) had a similar case on Carnival or Celebrity(I don't remember which) but the cruise line did point out two things that I have found of interest. 1. Ordinanry pregnacy is NOT covered under travel insurance so that if you are denied boarding because the cruise line won't let women beyond a certain date(normally 27 weeks)of travel, they don't get the money back under insurance policy. and 2. Since it can't be insured against the cruise line reconsidered and allowed a credit . I hope that helps you sorry I don't have your email address... Family of 14 Posted April 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2004 I have to wonder if the couple had just gone ahead with their cruise plans if they would have been called down by Carnival. Had they not contacted Carnival, would they have been allowed on the ship? How would Carnival have know the woman was past the 27 week mark without asking for a doctors note. Do they really check that closely?
