Travel irons

Is it right that you are not allowed to take a travel iron on a cruise? We're booked on board the Emerald in August and it doesn't look as though there is a laundry room on board.

Hi.

My wife took a travel iron on board the Emerald.

We never knew you were not supposed to until we were on the ship.

We used it and put it away when we were finished and had no problem. We also done a washing when we were there, so there was a laundry.

This was 4 years ago though so maybe it has changed,

There's nothing on the deck plans to indicate a laundry, so I'm taking my travel iron! I'll just be careful and won't leave it out on show.

There is no launderette on the Emerald and the voltage is 110 so if you do take your iron better check it will work on that voltage!

Dont want to be a grouch but irons arent allowed on board because of the high risk of fire. Fire at sea is one of the worst things that could happen to anyone. Hope i havent spoilt your looking forward to your cruise but even without an iron you will really enjoy it.
