Kids "Backpacks" on NCL-Dawn

We are going on a NCL-Dawn cruise in August with our 9 1/2 and 4 1/2 year old kids. I read that they have kids "backpacks" available.

Wondered if anyone knew how much they cost and if they were worth getting?

On the NCL website under Bon Voyage gifts it's listed for a 7 day cruise at $39.50. I bought one for our daughter on the Dream a couple of years ago. She liked the backpack, which is very brightly coloured, and comes with sunglasses, a hat, a tee shirt, and a refillable cup/straw. It also comes with the soda program, which actually turned out to be quite useless for us, since she doesn't drink anything with bubbles in it and she doesn't like US style iced tea.

 

So... if your kids are going to take advantage of the sodas, I would say go for it, because it makes a nice little souvenir, but if they aren't soda drinkers, I'd give it a pass. Keep in mind, also, that if they attend the final evening's pajama party in the Kid's Crew, they'll get a souvenir tee shirt that they get to colour themselves. :)

My kids are not soda drinkers so I don't think it would be worth it. Thanks for the info........
