What to do if you don't plan a tour in Ochos Rios?

Dh and I are cruising in January, and we're planning on spending the bulk of our excursion budget scuba diving in Grand Cayman and Cozumel, so there probably won't be a lot left over for touring all over Ochos Rios. We would also like to have a day where everything isn't super-planned.

 

On that note, what do folks do who don't have an excursion booked? Are there cool things to see/do close to the port, or is there a good beach nearby?

We headed to Margaritaville. They have a fresh water pool with slide, hot tub and swim up bar. It is free, if you purchase a drink or food. They also have a private beach. It is in a shopping village to get all your adult beverages or t-shirts.

 

We are planning to do this again next month.
