helicopter glacier dog sled ride Vs dog ride with ground transportation

Excited to go crusing

I had considered doing the helicopter ride & dog sled trip on our stop in Juneau, however I weight about 240 lbs & they charge an extra 50% for anyone over 250 lbs, as we are on vacation for a month before we sail, I'm worried I might hit the 250 mark, espec if I am wearing warm layers, The tour is already over $400 so I really am not going to pay another $200. for me & DH. SO I noticed our ship has a shore excursions that takes you to a dog sled camp by bus & costs only $159, its called summer dog camp. Has anyone done that one. I'm not bothered about the flying part, as I plan on doing a float plane trip out of Kettchikan. they also have a bus trip out to Meldenhall for $39 so it would be alot cheaper, if less spectacular.

Just back from Alaska on RCCL. We did helicopter and dog sled in Skagway. Before getting on the helicopter they asked us our weight but did not weigh us. It was definately worth the $$$$$$. There was a couple that went on a helicopter tour with another company and said that they had to get on scales to prove their weight.
