Dress up night on the POA

the cruise is on

Recommended Posts

We will be cruising on the POA in Sept. All of us have have cruised before, and the ladies in our group have always enjoyed "formal night." The guys not so much! All of the guys have their own tuxedos, and the ladies want them to take them on our Sept. Hawaii cruise. The post on this site seem to indicate that not a lots of guys dress in formal wear for dress up nights. Could any of you give me an idea of whether or not they will be over dressed of they plan to wear their tuxedos. Thanks for your help.

Many people got dressed up for formal night, gowns, tuxedos, etc., while others like myself dressed more casually. There were two lobster nights but people seemed to get the most dressed up for the first one.

There is no "formal night" on any NCL ship. They are called "Dress up or not Nights." You will find that only about 50% of the passengers will dress up and that will range from some tuxes down to shirt/tie. The other 50% will be dressed in "Resort Casual" (Polo shirts, kahkis and tennis shoes or Hawaiian apparel.) No one dining room will be "formal" only and you will find it mixed about evenly in all dining venues.

But that is the joy of Freestyle Cruising... the option to dress as YOU want. If you want to get all dressed up.. then go for it and enjoy. But if you want to not dress up and simply wear casual clothes, you can do that to and enjoy it. Regardless of whichever way you choose, you will not be out of place.
