kiss Posted October 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Has anyone taken a shore exucrsion aboard the Jolly Roger Pirate ship? We are considering this trip in January 2005 as we have done Sting Ray City a couple of time and are looking for something new. Thanks for your help. bemarshall Posted October 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2004 We've booked the Jolly Roger for our December cruise later this year. I haven't been on it in the past, but there was a very nice write up in Islands Magazine a while back, which is what made me look into it in the first place. I too would love to hear firsthand from someone who has taken this excursion. Beth

bemarshall Posted October 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Kiss, will definitely post my review when we return. Doesn't look like too many people have taken this excursion ... hopefully we won't be disappointed!! Beth
kiss Posted October 19, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Beth, We have had friends take this excursion in the southern Caribbean and really loved it. I hope the one in the Cayman Islands will be as good. Have a fabulous trip.
envirolawyer Posted October 19, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2004 I'm also interested in taking this excursion this December (NCL Sun sailing Dec. 11) and would like to know if anyone has heard anything about it.
patnjohn Posted October 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2004 Hi, We did the Jolly Roger in Antigua. It was a lot of fun. You can walk the plank or swing off ship from rope. There is a pirate wedding (they pick a couple from the trip) & a lot of rum punch. We also stopped at a beach. Great way to spend a few hours. They film it & sell you the video. Also try to sell shirts & bandanas. My boss did the same trip in Barbados & he said it was the same. Hope this helps.
TrqoisWtrs Posted October 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2004 We did a land vacation to Cayman a few years back and did the sunset cruise on the Jolly Roger. Very strong free flowing drinks! :) As we left the dock, they fired the cannon at the Disney ship that was in port. The kids on board loved that. I would recommend it - it was a fun time. bemarshall Posted October 20, 2004 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2004 That sounds exactly like what we are looking for ... I think the pair of 8 y/o boys we have will LOVE it ... and the free flowing drinks won't disappoint me either ;o) Thanks! Beth
parrotheads Posted October 24, 2004 #10 Share Posted October 24, 2004 We've been to Cayman twice and have always seen the ship sail by. So we decided to book it for our Christmas Cruise. I was wondering if the only way to reserve it is through the ship. Is there a local operator to contact?
Stick10 Posted October 24, 2004 #11 Share Posted October 24, 2004 I found their web site http://www.jollyrogercayman.com. Looks like you can book everything there.
parrotheads Posted October 25, 2004 #12 Share Posted October 25, 2004 Stick10! You are awesome! Thanks so much! This web site is exactly what we were looking for! That way we able to compare the ship price to their direct price. I've emailed them and basically asked if there were any advantages to paying the ship's price which runs $4 - $5 dollars more per person.
envirolawyer Posted October 25, 2004 #13 Share Posted October 25, 2004 I was quoted $40 by the Jolly Roger people, and last time I checked, the cruise was offering the excursion for $39. Maybe that's changed, though?
