Tampa Hotel? Microtel 6 miles from Airport?

Is anyone familar with the Microtel 6 miles from the Tampa Airport? They have a very good rate pre cruise for me....but I don't know the area...5405 N Church AV....I will have a car so that is no problem, just concerned with the area....thanks Julie

I've not stayed in the hotel but am somewhat familiar with the area. It's decent - not the prettiest/newest part of Tampa, but not unsafe like some other areas.

 

It's down Dale Mabry a mile or so north of the Bucs stadium (you'd turn off Dale Mabry onto Hillsborough Ave, turn west, the hotel is just down on your right).

 

There's a huge car dealership across the street & a handful of chain restaurants in the immedieate vicinity.

 

It would be about a 5 to 10 minute drive to the cruiseport, assuming you aren't fighting work rush hour traffic.
