Jajone Posted August 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2008 How is everyone getting there now that the port has changed to Port Everglades for tomorrow's sail? That's a huge distance change! We would be flying in to Orlando with Carnival transfers. Would we be expected to rent a car, or is Carnival still bussing that far? How are these passengers being compensated? OhioJeff Posted August 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2008 http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/cruise_control/Weather_Updates08.aspx August 22, 2008 – 5:30 PM Carnival Sensation August 24, 2008 Departure Unfortunately, we were forced to operate the previous cruise from Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) due to the closure of Port Canaveral from the impact of Tropical Storm Fay. We will re-position the ship from Fort Lauderdale to Port Canaveral on Sunday, August 24 and it will arrive in Port Canaveral at approximately 8:30 PM. Boarding for the August 24 departure is expected to begin at about 9:00 PM. Due to the late departure, we will revise the itinerary and move the scheduled call in Freeport to Wednesday. The itinerary will now be as follows: DAY PORT ARRIVE DEPART Sun. Port Canaveral --- After completion of embarkation Mon. At Sea --- --- Tue. Nassau 8:00 AM 10:00 PM Wed. Freeport 8:00 AM 4:00 PM Thurs. Port Canaveral 7:00 AM --- We sincerely apologize to our guests that are impacted by this situation. Our entire Carnival team will do everything possible to minimize this inconvenience. Most importantly, we are looking forward to providing our guests with a great cruise vacation aboard the Carnival Sensation.
