Drinks Packages

We are taking the MSC Orchestra TA this coming Christmas/New Year and wondered if it would be best advise to order drinks packages before the trip or to order them once on board?

I would appreciate any advise....

Also do you know if what kind of day Christmas Day will be on board? What to expect?

This is our first time cruise..... Yikes!!!!:D

I haven't been on a cruise before Christmas Day but I can comment on Thanksgiving day when traveling with other cruise lines. It was a day like any other on both Carnival & Disney. However, they did have a "Tom Turkey" dinner on the menu that evening in addition to their standard cruise fare.
