Question regarding CS

We just booked a CS cabin on the Infinity and this will be our first time without a balcony. Does the size of the cabin and panoramic windows compensate for not having a balcony. We will be sailing to Hawaii and figure it is to cold to be on the balcony crossing anyway. And then once there, we will be out and about. Any comments or input?

Was in a CS on the Infinity this past September and thought it was great. we've had balcony cabins in the past and thought they were great too, but you won't miss the balcony at all unless you're someone who likes the convenience of being able to go out on the balcony for some fresh air before retiring. You will definitly like the suite and having the bedroom separate from the living/dining room. Your can take a nap while you sort through your digital pictures. The butler was a nice addition with the afternoon tea and the evening goodies. We didn't use him a lot but when we did ask for something, it was there almost before we finished asking for it. Of the cruises we've taken, this was the best cabin/cruise we've ever taken.

We recently had a CS on the Constellation transatlantic. We booked it for the same reason as you... on the previous transatlantic we had a RS and found it too cool and windy to be on the balcony much.

Pros: The windows were wonderful, we loved the view. The suite is a nice size and well layed out. The bedroom is very dark because it doesn't have any windows (we liked that).

Cons: We are smokers and found that without a balcony door to open the suite always smelled smokey. We did miss the balcony even for the short times we would go out even when it was cold. The bathroom was a bit cramped compared to the RS (no separate shower).

In summary, we won't book one again, but even having said that, it was a nice suite.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Sounds great! We booked the suite more forward figuring we would have a better view going foward than facing slightly backwards. I can understand why smokers may want a balcony. Not only do you have first hand smoke, you also have second hand. We had a category B suite on RCI last year and it reeked of smoke and we had to have the stewart come in twice to aerate the room. I wish the cabins were smoke free but I don't think they are.
