sail away

Recommended Posts

Hubby and I are off on the Spirit in October for the Moorish Delights and Med Renaissance. Leaving from Palma

We fly into Palma at about 6:30 pm. We don't yet know what time we actually sail.

Do we have a muster drill before we leave and what should we expect at 'sail away' - don't want to miss this.

Hi there - we've been on the Spirit twice and love it.

The sailaway is usually around 10.30 ish - although earlier this year we didn't actually "sail" until around 3 a.m. as a flight was very late in arriving, but the party still goes ahead!!

Muster drill is on Saturday at 10.00 am. We went up for breakfast and then popped back down to our cabin and picked up the life jackets, then made our way back upstairs to wait for the drill to be called. A lot of pepole did this. We also asked if it was necessary to do the drill the 2nd week and were told if we'd been to the first one it wasn't necessary, but we had to stay in our cabin.

When you go in the Compass Rose restaurant ask for a table with Bert and Elvis - they are fantastic!!

Hi Scarymary:)

You certainly do get a sailaway party on the Destiny.

Usually around 11.30pm . Palma Cathedral looks stunning as it's all lit up at night. Mind you if you've had your fill of cocktails you may not notice - lol !!!

Yes as soon as you land - you'll be whisked away by coach to your awaiting ship!! Cabins have always been ready for us when we arrive - we always go on an early flight as well. Luggage usually arrives mid afternoon. So you can go to your cabin, freshen up then hit the bar!!! Have a great time!
