Homer question

For those of you who have been fortunate to spend some quality time fishing in Homer, can someone recommend a house somewhere in Homer for rent for a week? My husband and six of his friends are flying into Homer next June for a week of fishing and would like to rent a house. Since there is 6 of them going and sharing the costs they are looking at a higher end property. So if anyone has recently rented a home in Homer I sure would like to hear about your experience. Thank you.

Gee, there are so many weekly rentals in Homer. But may I offer a suggestion. They REALLY don't want to spend the entire week in Homer. It will be King and red (depending on the time in June) season on the Kenai. A few days in Soldotna would round out a fishing trip very well. Too far to drive daily to the Kenai for Kings and other than the Kings caught in the Homer Spit or taking your chances around Deep Creek, you won't find a lot of Kings in the Homer area.

3 days in Homer for halibut fishing (make sure they do the double limit overnight trip-LOTS of fish and a really neat experience), a little fishing in the Fishing Hole, a couple of trips up to Ninilchik and Deep Creek.

Then go to Soldotna and fish both the Russian and Kenai for Kings and maybe reds.

As for rentals: Land's End condos are very nice.

Spruce Acres is probably one of the most reasonable and the owners are very nice. We stayed there 5 or six years ago for a couple of nights.

Here's a couple of links for rentals in Homer. If you check them out and pick a few that interest you, I will go by when I get back to Homer tomorrow and see what they actually look like and what they have for amenities. We are leaving Homer on Saturday.

Thank you for the very quick reply, I will have to check out the houses. We were in Homer two summers ago so I am familiar with Lands End but the guys decided they wanted to rent a house instead. Not sure on what they are planning for additional fishing, if they are going to stay in Homer or fish in different areas. Like I mnetioned I am just checking on rental homes for a favor to my husband, he is in charge of the fishing charters. But once again, thank you, I will pass on your fishing advice to my husband.
