katzoe Posted September 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2008 I am currently in the process of booking a 23 day sector from Hong Kong to Sydney on the QM2 - 2010 World Cruise. My agent is part of a consortium that specialise in Cruising & on their web site they list a number of sectors including the one I am booking and state that in addition to the early booking discounts "onboard credits of up to US1000 per person are also available". "Credit values differ depending on cabin category booked". This all sounded good to me so I asked what credit value my husband & I could expect. My agent came back & told me that there is no credit on this cruise. I know that it is early days but has anyone else booked one of these sectors and received information regarding the credits. What usually happens when credits are offered in print? I would appreciate any advice, assistance.
ocngypz Posted September 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2008 Onboard credit is only given to those booking a full world cruise or liner voyage. Your sailing is a segment, for which there is no onboard credit from Cunard. Some agencies here in the US block group space on these segments and offer their own onboard credit through the groups department. I don't know if any AUS agencies have done the same. The OP is on a segment, which does not offer onboard credit. World cruises break down like this. Full World Cruise Liner Voyage Segment The first two get obc, the last does not. katzoe Posted September 29, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Thank you both ozngypz & mcdermott for your quick responses and also ozngypz for your explanation of why you we do not qualify for an on board credit on this cruise.
