has anyone used either Tasmanian National Tours or Tassie Convoys for a day trip from Hobart to Port Arthur/Richmond? also is it possible to cover those 2 spots plus Bonorong National Park in 5-6 hours or are we best to visit Tasmanian Devil park instead?

Port Arthur will take 90 minutes each way and 2 hours to see it, minimum. Stopping along the way is nice if your drive, but I don't know if the tours stop for such sites as the tesselated pavement (sp?) of some of the fantastic blowholes such as the Devil's Kitchen. Tasmanian Devils are highly endangered, cute little critters, if you have time to see one or two go for it. OOPS Richmond, to be honest my wife and I spent so much time at Port Arthur that we ended up skipping Richmond, but give another hour or so for Richmond and the National Park will have to wait. Be sure to have fish and chips at Fish Frenzy on the waterfront in Hobart, best F and Chips in OZ. (if that can't get the thread going . . . :-)
