wormswimmer Posted November 13, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2008 We visited Samana last year and hired a taxi, which takes about an hour to get to the beach, for $100.00 US. This was for four couples in a minivan- so was not outrageous. the driver stays at the beach until you are ready to leave and get back to the ship. The drivers do NOT speak english, so any spanish you can learn before arrival will help. We met a lady who took a boat from the dock to the beach and the link sent to you may be the one. $160.00 for ten people is still nice and the boat ride is the way I will go there next time. Playa Rincon is still undeveloped. There is a covered building where beer and food is cooked, but it is primitive compared to other islands. I do not want to discourage you- it is one of the most beautiful beaches I have been blessed to visit. Go and enjoy the wonder of this place before it gets developed too much.
