mimi'sgirl Posted November 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2008 We were there unexpectly 2 weeks ago. Due to a hurricane that we could not cross. Our Eastern Disney Magic cruise became a Western cruise with stops at Cozumel and Costa Maya. Not knowing what to do we walked around the port and asked a shop keeper if there was a beach nearby. A $12 cab ride for 4 and 5min. later we were at a beautiful beach. They did not charge for chairs or umbrellas. We purchased some food and beers. Everyone we encountered was friendly and wonderful. We were not approached by anyone selling anything on the beach. The water was shallow and calm. A few people were snorkeling farther out. It was a great relaxing day. I urge you to not stay on the ship but to go and enjoy this beach.

I'm so glad you had the same experience we did in Costa Maya' date=' it certainly was a nice surprise to be there so soon after they've reopened! siestakim Posted November 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2008 This is one of my favorite spots. We went to a beach here and found some huge starfish. I'll post the link below. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q94/siestakim/m_a206bfbf5b0e0cfc937b861a46078c13.jpg

cocoa4 Posted December 1, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2008 We went to the beach at Majahal & went to the Tequila beach club last week & it was awesome-the best day of our cruise last week! Great place for a family, good food & not crowded Darla
vwalk Posted December 3, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2008 Here's a stupid question.....do any of the restaurants provide beach towels or is this something that I should pack? I'm assuming the cruise ship doesn't want passengers taking their towels off the boat.
cocoa4 Posted December 3, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2008 Yes, you can take the ship's beach towels-they just charge you at the end of the cruise if they are not returned. We always use the ship's towels NCl charge is $25. Darla
mimi'sgirl Posted December 3, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted December 3, 2008 vwalk- The beach was a 5 min. taxi ride from the port in Majahual. We were able to take towels from the ship. No charge and just bring them back,
