Luggage Questions-Navigator E1 Room-Port Everglades

Recommended Posts

I have not cruised in years (only once), and it was 9 years ago, and not on RCCL. I have a few questions regarding luggage. We are on the Navigator in an E1 Room, leaving out of Port Everglades.

1. We will be arriving by taxi. I assume that we leave our luggage where we check in. Is that correct?

2. Does it just show up in the room? Normally when? Does it depend on what time we board the ship? The ship leaves at 5 PM, I believe.

I do have luggage tags, that I will apply after we come off the airplane.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments.

When you get to the port, before you head inside the building to check-in there will be porters to take your luggage to the ship for you.

How long it takes for bags to appear varies. It's a large ship so it can take some time. I've usually had mine within a couple of hours of boarding, but other times it hasn't appeared until late in the evening. If there is something you will absolutely need during the day, keep it with you in your carry-on.

You leave the luggage with the porters (give a little tip).

Your luggage will be delivered to your stateroom.

It can be delivered as fast as a couple hours but can also take until midnight (though it never happened).

It will be dropped of in front of your stateroom. If your attendant passes by before you do, most likely he/she will put it in the room for you.

Happy sailings.

EDIT: I so hate it when two people post at the same time. :D

When you arrive at the port, you leave your luggage with a porter.

The luggage usually arrives at your cabin within a few hours, but sometimes it can be delivered after the ship has set sail. If you don't receive your luggage before dinner, it's okay to go to the dining room in your travel clothes (shorts). (We have never received our luggage after the ship has set sail.)

I imagine when you board the ship might influence when you receive your luggage, but they also batch them according to regions of the ship, and then the crew delivers them, so it also depends on how busy the crew are with other tasks, too.

Isn't that just terrible? (I did it first;))

At least we gave the same information!:p

Yeah, but don't you find it annoying if someone asks a question and 30 people respond with the same answer...:D

Not a big deal if 2 or 3 answer at the same time but then you have people posting hours later the same info. LMAO. :D
