mgg42 Posted January 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2009 Hi all! 35y/o veteran cruiser, but first time solo cruiser. Looking for a 7 day R&R to recover from some major burnout! Trying to decide between RCI Liberty of The Seas, and Celebrity Solstice. Ports of call are basically equivalent. I am happy dining with my table mates in the main dining room, and I'm also content dining solo in the buffet (or even Muranos or Chops or the equivalent if possible). I have never cruised alone, but I travel alone frequently. I will enjoy the pool, the fitness center, the casino, the bars (of course!), and may take in some of the entertainment. I don't lose sleep over missing belly-flop or hairiest back competitions. I know this is EXTREMELY subjective, but would you have a strong preference one way or the other? Surprisingly, Solstice is a good bit less expensive. Thanks! MGG

marcmarc2 Posted January 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2009 Are you looking for an active vacation or something a little more elegant or spa-like? Checking out the Roll Call threads of your prospective cruises may also be helpful. You really can't go wrong with either, it's more a matter of just the right fit for your needs. And yes, the Solstice is amazing. :)
