Lola1cruiser Posted February 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2009 Has anyone found any dog sledding company that is reasonable in price. The cheapest I have found is about $440 per person with helicopter flight. Any info would be great for the Alaskan ports for the Inside Passage. Thanks! allib81 Posted February 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2009 I'm also going to be on the Star Princess on May 10! I am thinking of doing this excursion in Skagway. Lola1cruiser Posted February 18, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted February 18, 2009 Thank you! I have another site also that has been pretty reasonable. I used them in September. www.bestofalaskatravel.com and here is another one: www.dollyvardenalaska.com We have 12 in our group so hopefully we can find a group discount on the excursions. Thanks, Lee Marie
Yukon Posted February 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2009 You're comparing apples and oranges. The expensive tours take you by helicopter to a glacier where you go dogsledding on snow - the cheap(er) ones take you by van to a place where to are on a cart through the forest. Embracedbylife Posted February 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2009 I think the helicopter tour to the glacier with dog sledding is worth every penny! It's expensive but incredible!
