Girdwood Shuttle Company - In Toursaver

I have a 2 for 1 coupon in the Toursaver book that is for a shuttle with "Girdwood Transportation Company" that goes from Anchorage to Whittier.

Wondering on anyone else's experience with them? I thought I remember reading on these boards, that this is a new company that started last year, and that they forgot to pick up someone in Seward?

Just curious. Was opting to use a cruiseship transfer (by rail), or booking directly through the Alaska Railroad.

But since I had a coupon, not sure if I should use it.

Thanks!

:o We had reserved them for our Anchorage to Whittier shuttle, until I went to book us on the train from Seward to Anchorage and found out that the AK Railroad is offering a 20% military discount in the shoulder season this year.

We had the 2-for-1 coupon

with Girdwood, but with the 20% discounts, it's about the same price to take the train to Whittier, plus we'll be on the ship 4 hours earlier.

Had it not been for the train discount, we would have stuck with Girdwood for the price. They seemed very professional when we booked, and as for allegedly forgetting someone, I'm sure that happens to all Companies from time to time.

We want to use them for the Whittier to Anchorage transfer, too and ordered a Tour Saver book. I'm wondering about the reliability of this company. When I emailed them inquiring as to whether or not I could use the coupon, they stated it would be no problem. Using the coupon would mean a savings of $57 for a party of 2. But it would be nice to get some feedback from the CC family.

Didn't buy the toursaver coupon, but we did take advantage of their current deal, buy one ticket, get one half off. We wanted to use them because it's a good quick transfer to Anchorage so we can get on with our independent land tour. On the phone Luke (manager) was very professional, and my questions were very promptly (like within minutes) answered via email. We'll be using them on 6/22 coming from our Princess cruise so I have high hopes of a good transfer...and certainly not getting left behind!!!!

We received an answer from Luke as well. He responded promptly to our inquiry and informed us that the coupon was good for 2 pp and they would be happy to book the transfer for us. The Tour saver book came in the mail today and we hope to be able to use a few coupons to recoup the cost of the book plus some additional items (since many expire on 8/31 we won't be able to use them).

We will book with them tomorrow. I hope we aren't forgotten either! It's a long walk to Anchorage (or anywhere in Alaska for that matter).:D
