What to do on ship on port days

Thanks so much for all the great responses. I'm glad to know we won't be out of place staying on the ship. We might take a quick trip to Margarittaville for lunch and some souveniers, but not sure. We went to Dunns Rivers falls 2 years ago with our kids and were a little taken aback by the people selling things there. As we were walking back to the bus a guy asked one of my 10 year old daughter's her name and when she told him he started carving her name in a wooden turtle so she would have to buy it. I told him no very firmly and basically had act as body guard for my kids all the way back to the bus. Very uncomfortable.

We have stayed on the ship in a few ports that we have previously visited several times before.

In addition to having the pools to ourselves, there are fewer people having lunch in the dining room, so service is that much more individualized and attentive.:)

A great time to be out by the pool... there is pretty much nobody there since everybody is out on the island. Sometimes during the day in port, they will have a movie playing on the MUTS screen outside by the pool. All of the outdoor bars are open, along with the Horizon Court. Obviously the casino and shops are closed in port though.
