Best snorkeling? Have our own gear.

Any suggestions on good snorkeling here? I've been to all islands except this one in the past. Looking forward to exploring on our own. Thanks in advance.

Interested in the same thing - we also have our own gear and will be in Curacao Dec. 23, 2009. Have been reading the Curacao board, checking the recommended locations, bookmarked a few sites, and have been told by several people locally that Curacao is one of the ports we MUST snorkel in. We have snorkeled in a number of Caribbean ports, as well as the Galapagos Islands, so we are really interested in where the best snorkeling is in Curaco, without being overrun with people.

 

Is it best to go by boat or charter to the better snorkeling/dive spots? We really don't want to do a spot like Kon Tiki - looks much like one of the beaches we went to in a Mexico port, and the snorkeling wasn't that great, plus it was very crowded.

Playa Porto Mari has great snorkeling. A lot of the scuba boats go there. It is about 10 miles from the port.
