Hi all,

We live in Key West and are travelling to Cozumel for only one day. Are there any good places not to miss. We don't really need beaches or high tourist spots seeing as we live in Key West and have access to ths 24/7.

Any suggestion of things to do and see or places to eat and drink that are a little off the beaten track or must see places?

Thanks

Graff

Well, here is a short list:

Los Tres Patitos for breakfast empanadas - kinda like fried dumplings. Offer cheese, bean, potato and meat filled for $3.5 peso (about 30 cents) each. On Ave. 30 between 13th and 15th.

Sabores for lunch. On Ave. 5 between 3rd and 5th. Open 11-4ish. $40 pesos (less than $4 dollars) and fabulous!

The museum. Small but nice and full of history/pictures of old Cozumel. On Melgar which is the main road along the water. Great place for breakfast also but only open til 2 for meals.

The pink shop in the square. On Ave. 5 walkway, next to Artesians. Has great selection of Dia de Muertos items...Day of the Dead stuff.

Coconuts on the East side. Excellent ceviche and great view of the beach.

The Mercado. Located on Sales between 20th and 25. Full of meat, fruits/veggies and stuff. Fun to brouse and see the sights. Great food too. Tutti Frutti is very clean and good.

Those are just a few of my favorite places to eat, shop and sightsee here.
