BullDogChief Posted April 3, 2009 #52 Share Posted April 3, 2009 I'm sorry to hijack the thread but all of this knowledge made me think (I know danger danger)Anyhow Bulldogchief from what you have written it sounds like the end of the Anchor chain isn't attached to the ship and the last 3 "shots" are painted red for the crew to get the heck out of the way before it finished dropping and whips out and hits them...am I correct? I think the clouds are parting.... Thanks bunches!! Micky Hey there gatr...yes you are correct, for the most part, allow me to explain...I know the ships I served on did not have the anchor chain attached to the ship but I cannot speak for every ship on the high seas ;)
BullDogChief Posted April 3, 2009 #53 Share Posted April 3, 2009 Yeah, I noticed that - so figured I'd explain a bit. This confusion is the whole reason for port/starboard - eiminates any ambiguity.;) Wait until we get into starboard and LARboard :eek::D:D
jetskier Posted April 4, 2009 #54 Share Posted April 4, 2009 Wait until we get into starboard and LARboard :eek::D:D And dont forget steorbord. I still have it ingrained in me to say deck instead of floor. In case you have not been keeping up, there is legislation to rename the Dept of the Navy to Dept of the Navy and Marine Corps.
