Will be visiting your little piece of paradise on Jan 2 aboard the Celebrity Galaxy. Will not be diving due to our short stay there 7-1. But we will visit Majuahual and check things out.

 

Q- Is there a liqour store in town. I will be looking specifically for Xtabentun a Mayan liqour. We will be in Cozumel the day before, where we have bought it in the past, but given the Jan 1st holiday we are concerned the stores may be closed. Hope that Majuahual may be source also.

As you come into town the first store there SUPER CAROLINA carries a stock of liquor and the other is Super Caribeno. You can try there but being the 1st they might not be open.

mmmm, a Myan liqour:-) That sounds like a great gift to bring back for a friend of mine.

 

Are there any Myan RUMS from this region? I'd love to add a bottle (or 2)to my liqour cabinet if there are. (Can anyone suggest a "tasty" one?)

 

What else is this area known for? (forgive my ignorance. This will be my first time to Costa Maya/Mahahual).
