franu Posted December 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2004 Not knowing when we will arrive in Ushuaia, I would like to know if there are any kiosks or shops alongside the dock. I am not a big shopper but I would like some small gifts and Tshirts from "the city on the bottom of the world". I don't know if we will be able to look around the town as we may be on the later plane. Thanks Fran
gracecarmo Posted December 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2004 Yes, there are some shops along the quay. Mostly souviner type things, and as I recall there was also a shop selling leather coats. Also some street vendors. If you walk up into town there are a lot of stores nearby selling touristy stuff.
wander Posted December 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2004 Since the town (city actually) starts at the waterfront, a walk of a few blocks will allow you to cover the area I would call Downtown Ushuaia.
franu Posted December 7, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted December 7, 2004 Thanks for alleviating some of my anxiety. As I am not sure that I will have more than 15 minutes to pick up a few trinkets from the southernmost city, I am feeling less anxious as I think that this will be the perfect little token gifts. Of course, I am hoping to get more time to see more of the city. Fran
