Live from Cozumel

Just an update: Did a land vacation this year to Playa del Carmen and just returned from Cozumel. No cruise ships at all. Talked to a federal employee who was passing out material on the flu and she stated that all ships will stay away for at least two weeks from this area of Mexico. All archeological sites have been shut down along with some other tourist attractions on the Yucatan. Some in the area are cutting their vacations short and flying out early. Cozumel is a ghost town. Many of the shops closed up. All the bars and restaurants empty. Rumors running rampant. No signs of the flu though. Most believe media hype. Maybe better to be safe than sorry. Hope this doesn't last long.
