eh24fan Posted June 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2009 Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a few weeks now while we've been planning our cruise for April 2010. We've settled on the Miracle, leaving 4/29/10 from N Y. Here's my question. We are hoping to book today and one of the cabins we are considering is 8211, then I noticed that this the deck below Lido deck and looks like this room is under the buffet area. Is noise going to be a problem? There will be 4 of us, 2 adults, a 9 year old and a 3 yr old. And we all need our sleep!!!
green eyed lady Posted June 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2009 We were under the buffet area on the Valor and NEVER AGAIN :( Every morning around 5 we heard carts being rolled and chairs being scraped. Now I always book with cabins above us :D
LUPY48 Posted June 4, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2009 Are you sure it's not April 21, 2010? I am booked on that cruise.
eh24fan Posted June 4, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 4, 2009 Are you sure it's not April 21, 2010? I am booked on that cruise. Nope, it's the 29th, it's also an 8 day itinerary, but it goes to San Juan, St. Thomas and Grand Turk. :)
PaddleAddict Posted June 4, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2009 I was in a similar spot on that deck on the Miracle and I think it depends on how lightly you sleep and how early you get up. We did hear noise in the mornings, specifically chairs being dragged, but honestly, it didn't bother us too much, but then again, I can sleep through anything! Why take a chance if you're not sure about the room? Just move to a deck with cabins above and below and you should be fine!;)
CA27 Posted June 4, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2009 I was on 8181 last year, and if you're a light sleeper, I don't think being under the Lido deck is a good idea. We could always hear the deck chairs being moved around, and the music from the late night deck party was really loud. Luckily, I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me that much. The good thing about being on deck 8 is that you can just walk up 1 flight of stairs and you're right on the Lido deck. We just did the Miracle last week, but on deck 7 this time. It's definitely less noisy than it was on deck 8.
Upandadam Posted June 4, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 4, 2009 We were in a room close to that in January and had no noise at all. It may vary depending on when you're in the room, when you sleep, etc. But that was our experience.
eh24fan Posted June 4, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted June 4, 2009 Thanks everyone!!! We are working on booking right now and are aiming for deck 7. :) That puts a little more distance between our room and the deck noise!!
