alert Posted December 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I read the following in a journal on the igougo.com site: "Also, only take the public buses (blue) as there are two transportation systems in place. There are yellow buses in operation which are run by the locals and can be quite dangerous on the roads, so stick to the government run buses" Should one stay off the private bus and stick only with the public buses? We've spent the last 14 winters on the island and in that time we have seen only three minor accidents involving public transportation. One was with a public bus and two were with local run shuttles. I will admit, the local-run shuttles are quite an experience. A thrill, as it were. But they know how to move people fast. If it scares you to have your transportation vehicle driven over curbs and sometimes over the edge of a front lawn, then perhaps you may wish to stick to the government-run blue busses. You'll be missing a lot of cheap fun, however.... ;) ;)
