Thomson Celebration Adriatic Explorer

Just returned from a fabulous week aboard the Celebration, we have been on Destiny and Spirit previously, so here's a quick report.

Our cabin was inside on deck 1 (823), we had no problems sleeping, just the usual noises of toilets flushing and wardrobe doors in the morning. The cabin had a double bed and was spacious, the bathroom was looking tired however, with tiles in the shower showing signs of leakage as lots of sealant had been applied. The water from the shower didn't always drain away properly and the drain made gurgling noises when using the basin.

One of the outside cabins opposite had problems most of the week and had to be dried out most days, not too pleasant for the occupants.

 

The shows in the Broadway were generally good and the performers gave 100%, the first and last shows were the weakest. The highlight for us was the Staff show which was most entertaining. I don't know if it was because of the mix of the Greek waiters, but the service of drinks was not to usual standard, several times we had to go to the bar.

 

The food was good as usual, but we missed the usual waiter's sing song which we were expecting from our previous trips.

 

On the Lido by the pool there is one coffee machine which is by the smoking area, I think on the Spirit there is one each side which is better if you are a non smoker.

 

We didn't do any excursions as we wanted to do our own thing. We got the water bus into Venice (16 euro each), Split was tender and we walked into town, Dubrovnik we got a taxi from the ship and back (10 euro each way). Split, Koper and Kotor we were able to walk into town.

 

We had a great time as usual and will be booking the next one soon.

I hope this is useful and not put anyone off this cruise.

Did you need a jumper for night times when walking on deck. You know when you go to greek resorts for your holidays they are so laid back they never rush around with drinks and food.

No jumper required for me on deck, but my wife may disagree. Some of the air con on board was a little over zealous, so some of the bars were cold.

We were on the Adriatic tour, only really ate and drank on board.
