Cruisin_Cheesehead Posted June 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Hubby is wondering if NCL has shoes for thier Black Jack tables or if they use all automatic shufflers with no shoes like Carnival? Anyone know?
Yo Eleven Posted June 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2009 Is one better than the other?
Cruisin_Cheesehead Posted June 23, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted June 23, 2009 ....probably not. He just prefers that they shuffle a few decks, and then put them in a shoe. He's not a "card counter" per se, but he does keep an eye on things and he feels you are more apt to get on a role (for the positive or negative) with a shoe. When the dealer is constantly loading cards into a shuffler and dealing them, there is zero way to track cards, and there is no rhthym. Also, play tends to speed up when the auto shuffler is used. Just one man's opinion...

Just one man's opinion... Well certainly if he doesn't count cards (which is prohibited in casinos) it wouldn't matter which type of shuffle system they use. In Blackjack all you do is play the basic strategy and hope for the best.

Tell the pit boss that you will be counting cards today, but will be doing it in your head and see what happens. HAHA!

Now that would be stupid and stupidity does not help anywhere. I repeat, card counting is not illegal anywhere. Casinos do not want you to do it because it improves your advantage. But, bring in an ipod card counting device and you will be hauled away in cuffs or tossed out the lobby window by Moose and Rocco. LOL!

Yo Eleven Posted June 23, 2009 #11 Share Posted June 23, 2009 No, you will be politely asked to stop using the device or leave. The day you get asked "politely" to stop using the device at a blackjack table is the day "Don" decides to have a heart and leave someone a tip. :D

weloverunning Posted July 30, 2009 #13 Share Posted July 30, 2009 Cheesehead: We have been on six NCL cruises. On all ships they used automatic continous shufflers whereas the dealer put all the cards in after every hand. I remember once or twice being on a cruise with shoes but I believe that was Celebrity. Hope that answers your question.
