Who/How to book shore excursions?

Do you expert cruisers think it is better to book on line or is it better just to set up a trip when we arrive in port? We are looking to do a snorkeling trip to the planacar and columbia reefs. I have seen a couple of trips I like from Island Marketing. Does anyone have any experience with this company? Sounds like folks have had good luck with this group setting up all inclusive beach clubs. But I have not found any information on their boat trips.

 

There trips start from the Wyndham and they say that is within walking distance from the San Fransico & Paradise beach clubs. Is that true?

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
