Private guide budapest and prague

I am looking at a company for Prague tours called Prague Private Guide. This is a different company than what I've seen on Cruise Critic which was Prague-Guide. We need someone to pick us up in Passau and drive us to Prague and then we want some tours including visiting many of the Jewish sites and Terrezen. Is anyone familiar with this company?

We are also looking for a private guide in Budapest.

We will be sailing on Uniworld, October 10.

Thanks in advance.

Hi CruiseChick00

There was some information some time back re the following company in Budapest, http://www.driverguides.hu/home.htm and also http://www.tourguide.hu/review.htm

Following the recommendation at the time of both Agnes and (I think) Elisabeth, I have arranged private tours with Agnes for our visit to Budapest in Sept/Oct this year.

If you enter driverguides.hu or even just Agnes in the search function, you will find those links.

Good luck with your planning . . . . .

This is a portion of my trip report from last September. We were very pleased with our guides and our tours.

Private tours. We arrived two days early in Budapest and stayed an additional two days in Prague. Prior to arrival we booked a private tour of the Danube Bend with Elisabeth Kovacs from Personal Tour Guides. http://www.driverguides.hu/aboutus.htm

Agnes Antal who has been mentioned on this website referred us to her. Elisabeth drove her own car and was quite personable. Our first stop was at the Piliscaba Campus of Pázmány Péter Catholic University. The architecture was enchanting. Our next stop was at the Esztergom Basilica. There we found a "glittering Hungarian treasury". http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F0CEFDF1431F932A15750C0A9659582 60&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=all I wish I had read this before we visited.

The embroidered chasubles and gilded chalices, reliquaries and monstrances were incredible. A fascinating place and a highlight.

We didn’t stop at Visegrad but went on to Szentendre which was quaint. There were no crowds when we were there. We lunched at the Elizabeth Restaurant (no relation) on yummy Hortobagyi palacsintas. A fine outing with a good guide.

In Prague we booked a private city tour which covered areas not seen in the included tour and went to Kutna Hora on another day. We enjoyed the ride through the countryside and walking around quaint Kutna Hora but the highlight was going on to the Sedlec Ossuary. This place may not be for everyone but it was truly amazing.

Our charming and knowledgeable guide was Jana Kratka of Prague Private Guides http://www.prague-guide.info/about/allguides.html

We enjoyed palacsinta desserts and hot chocolate in the hotel at Kutna Hora.

Enjoy your trip.

Travel well,

Jean
