How long in advance should I book cruise?

We're looking to go on the Epic in February of 2011. I've seen NCL advertise 3rd & 4th passengers for $99 from time to time. Do they do this at certain times of the year? We want to take the kids and I'd love to save some money. :)

We found booking far ahead works for our group - when we saw that NCL was running a promo we called out TA and had her upgrade our booked cabins to that. We went from being on the 6th deckto the 11th deck by watching the promos NCL was doing also saving $53 each and then calling our TA to have her match that. Book yourselvs and then add the kids later when you see the promo come up again. Its pretty simple.

I book as early as I decide to go and have never had a problem with my travel agent getting me the reduced fares if they happen to discount.
