Pinevalleyite Posted December 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2004 I know some people said they bought their own snorkeling gear and brought it with them rather than rent which they said was expensive. Do you really need the fins or is a mask and snorkel sufficient?
Govac24 Posted December 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2004 We found that a snorkle & mask worked great!!! Fins are nice but not necessary. They will give you at vest at no charge. You must wear the vest while snorkling. Have fun looking for Mickey!!! Lisa
keukamom Posted January 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2005 We always bring our snorkeling equipment. Fins help me move in the direction I want to go, especially if it's far out. Mickey is gone, due to the hurricane damage. Castaway Cay is spectacular, but Hannama Bay, HI still is tops for us!
twobusyhands Posted February 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2005 Lisa, who or where exactly do they give you free vests on Castaway Cay specifically?
Crusin and lovin it Posted February 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2005 I much prefer snorkeling with fins. My first experience was in the Bahamas it is much more effortless. We will also take all our own equipment with us on our March Cruise. There is just something about sharing something that goes in your mouth with hundreds of other people that I find undesirable. They sanatize things but still. When do you go?
