Reef Yucatan...transportation question

southern

Recommended Posts

I'd prefer not to take the bus tour in order to maximize time and because we will be traveling with three children (seven people total). Is there a way for us all to use a taxi or other private transportation? If so, how much should we expect to pay? Are we able to pay directly at the resort and how much should it be?

Thank you!

There are vans and taxis in the area where you are dropped off in Progreso. A ride out to the Reef shouldn't be very expensive at all but honestly I don't know how much. But it's not going to cost you an arm and a leg. It'll be in pesos, and you'll pay the driver directly, either in pesos or dollars (be prepared to accept a lower-than-bank) exchange rate on those dollars.

Happy planning! :)
