Ship tour at Bar Harbor

We will sail on the Massdam arriving in Bar Harbor on October 9, 2011. Can someone tell me what group provides the tour of Acadia Park "Acadia National Park" if booked through the ship?

I've read the tour description at HAL's site plus the 2 reviews. From what I've read I can not tell what tour company is providing the tour :(.

But from what I now understand is that the tour is riding on a tour bus with only one stop at the top of Cadillac Mountain. The tour takes you on the Acadia National Park Loop Road but no stopping for photo ops :(; the tour takes you by historic homes but no stopping for photo ops :(.

If that is a tour that interests you, don't read any further.

If you expect more from a tour, then book a tour with one of the more popular independent tour companies that serve Bar Harbor and ANP.

For certain, you will see the same as the cruise ship tour but there will be more stopping. Plus the tour guides are very knowledgeable locals who do the tours daily.
