Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you both again for the information about this and for the pictures! Even though our cruise isn't until May of 2025 we are really looking forward to this cruise and for the land portion that we are researching that we will put together ourselves.
  2. Heidi and Coral, thank you so much about the info about the Monkey Island! What deck would we be able to access that area from if they do open it?
  3. Thank you both for the great information, you have given me more to think about and I'll need to call my sister and brother in law this evening and get their input as they are cruising with us in thecabin next to us. Our fare went down slightly since I booked it online on black Friday and I had tried getting it refared by calling the 800 Princess number but after spending 45 minutes on the phone with someone I had a very hard time understanding who finally said he had gotten the price adjusted the new price is not reflected on my booking when I log in. Maybe it would just be easier to cancel and then rebook with a CVP in a cabin more mid to aft.
  4. We booked our first Princess cruise on the Sapphire May 17-24 northbound Vancouver to Whittier! We are in a forward balcony cabin on deck 10, the Caribe deck. It looks like these balconies are a bit deeper with part of the balcony covered by the balcony above and a portion of the balcony uncovered. Is this a good type of balcony to have for Alaska or would we be better with the shallower balcony that is completely covered? We booked a forward cabin because when we did a round trip cruise on Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam in 2017 they opened the bow of the ship when we were in Glacier Bay and we really enjoyed that. Do they open the bow on the Sapphire when cruising Glacier Bay?
  5. We loved the Sea to Sky Gondola, I highly recommend it, such beautiful views from the top! We will be going back next time we cruise Alaska and based on your pictures and reports on Whistler I think we will need to spend a few days there too.
  6. We did the excursion from the Nieuw Amsterdam in May 2017 where we were hoping to get to Tracy Arm but there was too much ice so we ended up going to Endicott Arm instead. It was an amazing day and when we do cruise Alaska again both my husband and I said we need to pick a cruise that either offers that excursion or the timing would be right that we could book it on our own and the dates I'm looking at on the Crown offer that excursion. If we don't make it to Alaska this year we'll go next year or in 2025 😀 Enjoy your excursion on AdventureBound and thank you for the link
  7. Following along and thoroughly enjoying your report! I am trying to convince my husband to do the 10 day on the Crown on August 15th or the 11 day on August 25th, he loved Glacier Bay so much the only other time we cruised Alaska in May of 2017 that he says these cruises don't interest him because they don't include Glacier Bay but I'm still trying to convince him. In May of 2017 we went to Shannon Falls after going to the Sea to Sky Gondola, after seeing your pictures from Whistler I wish we had gone there too, it looks beautiful!
  8. Following along, we're thinking of possibly sailing on the Sapphire to Alaska May of 2024 in an inside or obstructed ocean view cabin. Have a wonderful cruise!
