Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I don’t find much difference in comfort between the strap for mini and explore but the mini is harder to get on as strap has to slide over you hand partially closed and then you tighten down on wrist, depends on how severe motion issue is whether you take off when in port, I preferred to just keep on even when off the ship, especially if activities include some windy tour bus , so have never experimented with timing to put back on when returning to ship
  2. I have used both relief band and EmeTerm on cruises, flights and for work when i need to ride in back of an ambulance, I vastly prefer the Eme Term to the relief band, the battery life is longer, is more comfortable and easier for good contact, although both do work for me for nausea related to motion. On a cruise you have to either have 2 to charge alternately and rotate wearing one during the day the other at night or not wear one at night and take meclazine before bedtime, at least 2 hours before removing the ere term. If you have any further questions about the models and options they offer feel free to ask, I have basically used all of them. I prefer the explore for the EmeTerm models but also have the mini as a back up and to use if go snorkeling since it is water proof. Out of the Relief band models, prefer the sport over premier, the shape of the band on the premiere makes it loose contact all the time.
  3. We just came back from our cruise, used Chilkoot Charters & Tours in Skagway for the bus tour across into the Yukon and were very pleased with tour, holds a max of 18 on bus, believe we had 14 total, very experienced driver/guide, been doing the tour for over 20 years and great communication from company pre tour. Wanted to do the train up and bus back but that was not allowed by Canada this year. They picked up us right at dock in there morning and drop you back off there or in town, where ever you want.
  4. Thanks for the explanation of the App, and yes I agree is totally deceiving if there is a pre-queue to even get to where the clock starts.
  5. Are the wait time listed on CATSA app accurate? I am asking because I downloaded the app and have been following the wait times for Vancouver airport lists A and B Canada as usually the longest, at around 20-25 minutes, but sometimes much less, E United states is usually 10-15 minutes. Just curious if this is an accurate time since in no where near 2-3 hours. Is there an additional wait you factor in as I thought these were the security screening times, or maybe I just don't understand. I am another one who's flight was moved earlier by United, now 12:25 departure. This is on a Friday, which is a 1 ship in port day for us.
  6. So what are the possibilities of making our flight with options available as United has now moved our flight out to a 12:25 departure. We will be flying first class if that makes any difference at security checkpoint. Should we make appt's at the CVM at convention center for when they open which I think is 8:30, have test done and proceed to airpot awaiting results in route? Should we get off ship as early as possible and head to airport and test there? If we did this route, what would you recommend appointment time wise? What happens if you get delayed getting of the ship and are late for appt at airport? Count me as another one who wishes this testing requirement would go away... especially since you are in Canada only a few hours after leaving US alaskan cruise..
