Cruising 4 eva Posted November 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Hi, We are leaving in a few weeks to go to Tassie and NZ. At a loss as to what to do in Hobart. Don't really want to prebook an organised tour or hire a car - have already organised this for other ports. Would like to leave this day a little less busy as we have two primary school aged children who might be needing a quiet day by this stage of the cruise. Are there tour companies, buses etc at the port when you arrive? We may be interested in going to Mount Wellington. Are there any local buses that do this trip? If so where would we meet them?? We are there on a Sunday. Any other suggestions - gratefully received!!1 Thanks for your help. Tanya
aussielil Posted November 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2008 Tanya, there is an information/tourist centre not far from the ship. I know it has Mt Wellington tours there as I took one in May 08. I am sure there are other tours from there too. Hope that helps. Have a great time
Cruising 4 eva Posted November 15, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted November 15, 2008 Thanks, I will look out for it. Were there any other interesting things to do in or around Hobart? I've read about Salmon Ponds, and also Mt Field National Park on these boards and am wondering if they are worth seeing? Thanks again for your help.
