xeriod Posted March 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2012 wondering if anyone has stayed there and what you thought of the place:) Stayed there 2/11 pre cruise. It was OK for one night pre cruise. They had just painted all the rooms and the tupintine smell was a bit much. They allow pets which did'nt bother me, but some people might be put off by the dogs in the elevator. Its also no smokeing . Its a couple of miles from Walmart and all the other stuff in Galveston. There is a new resturent across the street on the pier. Not much else around. The breakfast was OK and for $15 per couple they provide a shuttle to the ship. The morning we were there the lady at the desk seemed over powered by the responsibilty of getting guests on the shuttle. She ended up throwing down the shuttle list and walking out of the room. We just went and got on the shuttle without all the drama.

Carl Nival Posted March 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2012 Yes, yes, yes! This is my "go to" hotel in Galveston. My home away from home whenever I visit this magical city. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and right on the Seawall. So you can take a nice walk on the Seawall at night and then come back to your room and relax. There are two sides, one of which faces the Gulf of Mexico and the other which faces the city. I'm sure the Gulf view is preferred, but I like either one. The city view is of charming cottages. Try to get a top floor and a room away from the stairs. But I've never had any noise problems here. There is also free wi-fi and a continental breakfast. The continental breakfast can get a little crowded, so get there early or send someone to get the food and bring it back to the room. Hope you love it! helicopter Posted March 14, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Thanks so much for the reply. I have read so many different things about the hotel and they range from one extreme to the other (on the same subject).
