Splendour aft balcony question

Recommended Posts

We’ve booked a mid-ship balcony on the Splendour and have an opportunity to change to the aft balcony? It this a wise move? We usually like mid-ship for the convenience, but this ship is somewhat smaller so walking from one end to the other may not be so bad. Does anyone know if the aft balcony on the Splendour is any larger than a “side†balcony? What is the main draw to an aft balcony?

Thanks for your comments.

Marci, I saw pictures (sorry, but can't remember where) and the balcony did look bigger! We had a chance at one of those rooms but we wanted our parents room near us...since there aren't any elevators aft on the Splendour, we went for mid ship instead.

Thanks for the reply. I saw some photos on cruiseclues and one album had some photos from an aft room just 2 rooms away.

We did decide to try the aft. The worst that can happen is we don't like the location and will go mid-ship for the next cruise.

We had the aft balcony on the Splendour for the tran-atlantic last year, it is a bigger balcony, but a long walk to the elevators mid-ship there are not any stairs back there, I loved it and have it booked for two more cruises this year, by the way its one hundred ten steps from the elevator to the aft cabins, great calorie reducer.

Yes, the walk is a bit further but well worth it. The balconies are larger, there is little to no wind and the views are amazing over the wake of the ship.

Good call on changing to the aft...you'll never go to mid-ship again.
