SunshineCity Posted September 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2005 I wonder if the cruise ships will be departing Bermuda a bit earlier with this Tropical Depression scheduled to hit Bermuda tomorrow.
Swizzle v2.0 Posted September 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2005 Forecast is for Nate to be a Cat 1 Hurricane when it reaches Bermuda (news article). I think cruise ships are planning to leave early.

RSGS315 Posted September 8, 2005 #8 Share Posted September 8, 2005 We sailed the Zenith to Bermuda several years ago in the middle of June, and we had an early season hurricane heading towards Bermuda. We left Bermuda early and cruised to Martha's Vineyard before heading back to New York. We loved it, as we hadn't been there before. We toured the island and had wonderful sunny weather. Some of the ships may be heading there as well this time. Ginnie
Swizzle v2.0 Posted September 8, 2005 #9 Share Posted September 8, 2005 The hurricance veered south of Bermuda so the island will be spared hurricane-force winds! It is raining heavily right now but offices and schools have remained open as the winds are not expected to get severe. The storm will be gone by tomorrow.
teedee Posted September 8, 2005 #10 Share Posted September 8, 2005 I did hear from Gail (Tuggers) and Horizon left Bermuda a day early to get away from the storm. Other than some rough seas she's having a great time. Terri
RodPat Posted September 8, 2005 #11 Share Posted September 8, 2005 Swizzle, glad to hear that Bermuda was spared damaging wind from that huricane. Bermuda is too beautiful a place to suffer from a hurricane. wishing you clear skies and gentle breeze. Pat
